Having established a system of interconnected nodes, their value can be increased by means of a control mechanism. The command interface provides this capability to the worm nodes. This interface can be interactive, such as a user shell, or indirect, such as electronic mail or a sequence of network packets.

Through the combination of the communication channel and the command interface, the worm network resembles a DDoS network. In this model, a hierarchy of nodes exists that can provide a distributed command execution pathway, effectively magnifying the actions of a host.

Traditionally, hackers will leave some mechanism to regain control to a system once they have compromised it. This is typically called a back door because it provides another route of access, behind the scenes, to the system.

These mechanisms can include a modified login daemon configured to accept a special pass phrase or variable to give the attack easy access again. Code Red, for example, placed the command shell in the root directory of the Web server, allowing for system-level access via Web requests.

The command interface in a worm network can include the ability to upload or download files, flood a target with network packets, or provide unrestricted shell-level access to a host. This interface in a worm network can also be used by other worm nodes in an automated fashion or manually by an attacker.

Command interface might look old style, but it is proven effective and faster solution on computer problems, some essay writing company also agree with these conclusion and they also provide writing about it as well.

Malware can be roughly broken down into types according to the malware’s method of operation. Anti-”virus” software, despite its name, is able to detect all of these types of malware.

There are three characteristics associated with these malware types.
1 Self-replicating malware actively attempts to propagate by creating new copies, or instances, of itself. Malware may also be propagated passively, by a user copying it accidentally, for example, but this isn’t self-replication.

2 The population growth of malware describes the overall change in the number of malware instances due to self-replication. Malware that doesn’t selfreplicate will always have a zero population growth, but malware with a
zero population growth may self-replicate.

3 Parasitic malware requires some other executable code in order to exist. “Executable” in this context should be taken very broadly to include anything that can be executed, such as boot block code on a disk, binary code in applications, and interpreted code. It also includes source code, like application scripting languages, and code that may require compilation before being executed.

Logic Bomb
Self-replicating: no
Population growth: zero
Parasitic: possibly

A logic bomb is code which consists of two parts:
1 A pay load, which is an action to perform. The payload can be anything, but has the connotation of having a malicious effect.
2 A trigger, a boolean condition that is evaluated and controls when the payload is executed. The exact trigger condition is limited only by the imagination, and could be based on local conditions like the date, the user logged in, or the operating system version. Triggers could also be designed to be set off remotely, or – like the “dead man’s switch” on a train – be set off by the absence of an event.

Logic bombs can be inserted into existing code, or could be standalone. A simple parasitic example is shown below, with a payload that crashes the computer using a particular date as a trigger.

Logic bombs can be concise and unobtrusive, especially in millions of lines of source code, and the mere threat of a logic bomb could easily be used to extort money from a company.

Trojan Horse
Self-replicating: no
Population growth: zero
Parasitic: yes

There was no love lost between the Greeks and the Trojans. The Greeks had besieged the Trojans, holed up in the city of Troy, for ten years. They finally took the city by using a clever ploy: the Greeks built an enormous wooden horse, concealing soldiers inside, and tricked the Trojans into bringing the horse into Troy. When night fell, the soldiers exited the horse and much unpleasantness ensued.

In computing, a Trojan horse is a program which purports to do some benign task, but secretly performs some additional malicious task. A classic example is a password-grabbing login program which prints authentic-looking “username” and “password” prompts, and waits for a user to type in the information. When this happens, the password grabber stashes the information away for its creator, then prints out an “invalid password” message before running the real login program. The unsuspecting user thinks they made a typing mistake and reenters the information, none the wiser.

In previous articles we have discuss about browser battle, thus the battle are effecting on web design. Those browser development are potentially effecting on web design in both positive and negative side.

The browser war results in newer, better features that you can implement on your Web sites. The blistering pace of development leads to regular updates and bug fixes in browsers, as well as timely changes in the user interface, brought about by consumer comments. If you’ve spent much time surfing the Web, you’ve probably seen excellent uses for advanced HTML capabilities, such as tables, frames, and forms. The features allow users to view information in columns or cells, navigate sites using toolbars, and give and receive feedback.

You’ve probably also seen cool implementation of Java and animation such as pop up information when someone mouses over an image, the calculation of mortgage loans, and interactive games presented in Shockwave or Flash from Macromedia. Used in moderation, such advances can add much to the user’s Web experience.

As the software companies continue to try and outdo each other, both in market share and in the standardization process, end users often benefit. But this is not the case for every user, especially not for those who do not keep up with the latest software. That said, I’ll take a look at the challenges provided by the browser war.

The main challenge for the Web designer is designing a Web site that works for different browsers. To this end, the designer should keep several items in mind:
1. The latest official World Wide Web Consortium HTML standards, including HTML 4.01, XHTML 1, and CSS2.
2. Which features are supported by which browsers—not only the two main browsers but also the other browsers such as Opera, NeoPlanet, Lynx, WebTV, and wireless devices.
3. Which features are supported by which versions of the browsers. An early version of a browser does not support all of the features supported by the latest version.
4. Which types of browsers your audience will be using. If you are going to have a general interest or commercial Web site freely available to the public, you can expect all kinds of browsers. If you are designing a site that will only be available to people in your company, all of whom use Netscape Navigator 4.5 for Windows, you might be able to get away with a bit more.
5. Font design. Depending on how you choose to design your site, your audience can have the choice of which fonts and font sizes they use to view your site.
6. Image-free viewing. The audience may choose to come to your site with images turned off.
7. Whether the feature that requires certain browser capabilities is really worth the trouble. That is, whether the feature adds enough value to the site to justify locking out users whose browsers do not support it.
8. Whether another way supported by more browsers exists to achieve a desired result. (You may not always come up with an alternate method, but it is good practice to try.)
9. The likely speed of the connection your viewers will use. I haven’t discussed speed, but it helps to know if many of your users are connecting via a 56Kbps modem (which is likely if your Web site is publicly accessible) or via a T1 connection (which may be the case over a closed, corporate intranet).

Although it may seem daunting, staying on top of these issues helps you make informed decisions for your design. Once you start considering these factors, it becomes second nature.

Malware unquestionably has a negative financial impact, but how big an impact does it really is. It’s important to know, because if computer security is to be treated as risk management, then you have to accurately assess how much damage a lapse in security could cause.

At first glance, gauging the cost of malware incidents would seem to be easy. After all, there are any number of figures reported on this, figures attributed to experts. They can vary from one another by an order of magnitude, so if you disagree with one number, you can locate another more to your liking. I use the gross domestic product of Austria, myself – it’s a fairly large number, and it’s as accurate an estimate as any other.

In all fairness, estimating malware cost is a very hard problem. There are two types of costs to consider: real costs and hidden costs.
Real costs
These are costs which are apparent, and which are relatively easy to calculate. If a computer virus reduced your computer to a bubbling puddle of molten slag,^ the cost to replace it would be straightforward to assess. Similarly, if an employee can’t work because their computer is having malware removed from it, then the employee’s lost productivity can be computed. The time that technical support staff spend tracking down and fixing affected computers can also be computed.

Hidden costs
Hidden costs are costs whose impact can’t be measured accurately, and may not even be known. Some businesses, like banks and computer security companies, could suffer damage to their reputation from a publicized malware incident. Regardless of the business, a leak of proprietary information or customer data caused by malware could result in enormous damage to a company, no different than industrial espionage. Any downtime could drive existing customers to a competitor, or turn away new, potential customers.

Even the exact number of threats is open to debate. A quick survey of competing anti-virus products shows that the number of threats they claim to detect can vary by as much as a factor of two. Curiously, the level of protection each affords is about the same, meaning that more is not necessarily better.

Different anti-virus products may employ different detection techniques, too. Not all methods of detection rely on exhaustive compilations of known threats, and generic detection techniques routinely find both known and unknown threats without knowing the exact nature of what they’re detecting. Even for known threats, not all may endanger your computers. The majority of malware is targeted to some specific combination of computer architecture and operating system, and sometimes even to a particular application.

Even if it can’t run, malware may carry an indirect liability risk if it passes through your computers from one target to another. For example, one unaffected computer could provide a shared directory; someone else’s compromised computer could deposit malware in that shared directory for later propagation. It is prudent to look for threats to all computers, not just to your own.

Some malware or viruses or worms could be get from media player transfer or software download, the easiest to minimize the risks is by knowing the resources. If you do know the sources are safe, then it would be easier to track down and eliminate the risks.

If you’re using Mac, then those risks are really low, since most of the treats are hunting on windows, but the problem of using Mac, usually the compatibility, for example playing flv file in Mac. But now it could be solve with FLV player Mac.

Data is important things to kept, the data itself could store many things that could change your life. Losing data is untoleratable, that why many software company trying so hard solving these issues.

Both Windows and Macintosh are not safe from this issues, because the issues itself not just because of malfunction of software, but could also because of physical impact. That’s why we do need some software to get the data which is data recovery software.

For physical cause of data lost, might need further hardware replacement, but with data recovery software, predicted almost 70% of the data stored could be pull out from the broken disc.

In windows, we might heard several data recovery software, either its because of physical impact, virus/malware, or deleted files. But how to recover deleted files mac? The answer is Disk Drill.

Disk Drill is quite a powerful data recovery software for Macintosh users. Deleted by mistake, deleted by purpose, or anything that cause your data missing, could be recover with Disk Drill. In just a few simple steps, you’ll be able to get your data from your disks.

Data recovery software definitely a software you must have, because we never know when we’re going to use it, but trust me, you’ll need it someday.

Do not ever choose a website hosting without certain facts that it is a quality one, especially if you’re using it for doing your business. Only choose the best web hosting that can run smoothly. Tips on choosing hosting this time hopefully be useful for you who will choose the hosting or hosting has never before bought but turned out disappointing results. Less fitting it would be like to talk about hosting without a domain. Both are like two lovebirds who can not be separated. Hosting as a publisher of data, while their own domain name is the name of the address where your files are placed.

Lets have look below tips before you choose the best one:
1. Features Quality

Feature is the main thing you should look into buying hosting. Currently, there are so many hosting providers that seek to improve the quality of their features in order to face competition with other providers. If not, the customer confirmed immediately fled to other providers. Well, with this increasing feature, could bind and lock their client not to migrate somewhere else.

So what features should be considered?
Here are the main features you should check in web hosting provider:

- SPACE (Large hosting capacity, the bigger the better).
- Bandwidth (Large load data from either the upload or download, the bigger the better).
- Uptime (For websites not often down list, select the hosting uptime which is stable, at least 98% to the above)
- My SQL (more is better)
- Addon Domains (useful for those who want to have more than 1 domain on 1 hosting account)

2. Price Comparison

Once you see its features, if you do not care about the price issue it does not really matter. Another case if you are really considering this issue, then the best solution other than seeing the features offered is by comparing prices from one provider to another provider. This way you can draw conclusions Which web hosting company you use decent.

But remember! Do not be fooled by cheap price with good features then you take for granted. Conversely, it does not mean it is with the price of cheap web hosting cheap and not necessarily be good, there are other considerations that you should look. Do not forget also a price that is usually temporary. Usually some web hosting provides cheap prices only in the first year alone. Medium time extension prices soaring, you’ll want to ask this problem.

3. Number of Clients

Number of clients is a reflection of a hosting judged good or bad by his client. More and more clients, the hosting company usually reliable quality. For that, it would not hurt you also ask this problem to the relevant customer service.

4. Match Requirement

Do not be fooled by hosting also provides versatile features unlimited and that provider has been trusted by clients.
Which means what?

Purchase (rent) hosting your online business needs. Because it would be useless if you require only 50 MB of which only worth several dollar rather than buying others cause you’re tempted unlimited features that you won’t used with higher price. Certainly a far cry from the price comparison, and a lot of unused space will be wasted. Unless you intend to make a lot of websites at once or for long-term business, which does require a large space.

5. Server Location

If you target your marketing in certain countries. We recommend that you have to adjust with the provider you use. Because this will affect the speed of access to your target in question. If they are too long to wait for your web loading, it is not impossible they just run away. Usually the USA servers are lighter and can be easily accessed around the world.

6. Support

The characteristics of web hosting that is professionally managed support is responsive, patient, and always online 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Especially if you’re new to dealing with hosting issues, usually a lot of obstacles you will encounter. This is where the function of the responsive support it means a lot. You will be assisted until your site has really online. They usually also provide a complete range of communication media such as IM, email, phone, or directly come to the place.

7. Complete Address

As mentioned earlier, a good web hosting provider usually also indicate the completeness of the address. Although the client does not have to come into place, but at least will make the client feel safe with that address, so they need not fear that provider only fictitious or afraid to be left vague at times.

8. Company Age

The more older the age of the web hosting provider, usually the more experienced they are dealing with hosting issues.
Old age also showed the higher their flying hours to handle the hosting. They maintain strict program, the software until the contents are allowed to use. Because there is rarely a hosting provider out of business due to not be able to manage their hosting.

Last but not least, everyone would dream on fast hosting with age, then try out fasthosts. Great price and offer other features such as free scripts, site builder, and many more, it is mention on ipage host review.

You want to sell more software from your website? How do you make the client truly understand your product and trust it and your company enough to pay the price? Tips on what you should do.

Selling software online is not an easy task. How do you make the client truly understand your product and trust it and your company enough to pay the price? Like it or not, it’s very similar to selling face to face: the first impression may be decisive for the client’s future actions. Online, the website is your face.
Charter Cable TV

It has to be comprehensible and easy to use. Here are a few tips on how your website should be to sell software better:
•	It has to look professional and attractive at the same time

You don’t have to show off your web designer skills. Too many colours, graphics, flash animations or drop-down boxes can only tire the visitors and make them leave faster. Fewer graphic will also make the site load faster. At the same time, it shouldn’t be dull, so it needs to be somewhere in the middle.
•	Make sure your message comes across loud and clear.
In order to sell more software, information about software products must be easy to find, easy to follow and the same goes for the order process. Since most information is in the text, make it easy to read. Some coloured backgrounds make the text difficult to read, like purples, orange and reds. On the other hand, dark backgrounds may have a depressing effect on the visitor’s mood. The text colour is very important. Keep in mind that different browsers show colours differently, so don’t go crazy with it. It’s better to use Plain fonts, like Arial, Times New Roman, Verdana and Courier, because they’re easier to read. Fancier fonts may be used for headlines, but not full text. Remember though that sans serif fonts are easier to read on screen.
•	Easy navigation is law.
Make sure there’s a link to the homepage at the top left of every page, except the homepage itself. Be careful not to have dead end from which the visitor can’t find their way back to where they came from. Place the most important links in the top part of each page. Clearly mark read and unread links, preferably using standard colours.
•	Base the site’s hierarchy on your customers needs.
Don’t make them search the entire site before they find information about products, prices and payment methods.
•	Don’t make pages too long.
A web shouldn’t be more than 23 normal pages lengths, as no one likes an endless scrolling. If you have information for more than that, divide it into several pages with short information clips on the main index page leading to the second page.
•	Check all the links on your website to make sure they lead to a page.
Tags from the navigation menu must be representative for what that page is about.
•	Serve friendly error messages.
Don’t let the visitors see a page with 404 not found written on it. Put your creativity to good use. Error messages may include navigation to documents that do exist, a search box or a contact email address.
•	Have a privacy statement and testimonials.
Potential clients must feel confident dealing with you. Having a separate page to express your policy towards their email addresses, how you accept orders and gather information, who has access to information and how you use that information will help you sell more software. Also make a separate page for comments from satisfied customers. Offer to include links to the customers websites in return for using their comments.
•	Contact information or a link to it should be on every page.
If customers need additional information about the product, contact information like a phone number and an email address should be easy to find on the website. Let people know the hours and days of operation and the time needed to answer their requests. Give a contact name; it makes people have more faith that someone will actually read their message.
•	Set up a frequently-asked-questions (FAQ) page.
Base it on real questions your customers had in the past.
